UNU Jogja Pharmacy Alumnus Builds Career at the Central Java Regional Health Crisis Center of Indonesia’s Ministry of Health

Semarang, Indonesia – Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja) Pharmacy alumnus Muhammad Iqbalunnajih continues to make meaningful contributions to Indonesia’s healthcare sector after graduating in 2022. He currently serves as a Pharmacy TCK-EMT Officer at the Regional Health Crisis Center of Central Java under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

Iqbal’s professional journey reflects the ability of UNU Jogja Pharmacy graduates to compete and contribute in diverse areas of healthcare, including crisis management and emergency response, which play a strategic role in protecting public health.

During his studies at UNU Jogja’s Pharmacy Program from 2018 to 2022, Iqbal gained valuable academic and extracurricular experiences that helped prepare him for the challenges of professional life.

“During my undergraduate studies in Pharmacy at UNU Jogja, I gained valuable academic and non-academic experiences. The learning process, which was aligned with professional industry needs and supported by competent lecturers and adequate facilities, equipped me with relevant knowledge and skills in the field of pharmacy,” he said.

According to Iqbal, the supportive academic environment and guidance from lecturers enabled students to develop not only scientific knowledge but also the professional competencies required in the workplace.

Supporting Career-Ready Pharmacy Graduates

As a globally oriented university in Yogyakarta, UNU Jogja is committed to preparing students for the workforce from the beginning of their academic journey. Through various competency-development programs, students are equipped not only with academic knowledge but also with practical experience that aligns with industry demands.

One of these initiatives is entrepreneurship-based learning through the General Course on Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship. The program provides students with hands-on experience in managing business activities and understanding real-world business dynamics.

In addition, students have opportunities to participate in industry internships and social laboratory programs designed to strengthen their professional experience before graduation. The university also supports students through foreign language training, mentoring for national and international competitions, job interview preparation, and entrepreneurship development programs.

Inside the classroom, students are encouraged to think critically, confidently express ideas, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences. These learning experiences form part of UNU Jogja’s efforts to produce graduates who are not only academically competent but also prepared to compete in national and global professional environments.
