Eight Years with UNU Jogja, 35 Dedicated Staff Members Receive Appreciation from the Rector

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – The Rector of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja), Widya Priyahita Pudjibudojo, presented awards to 35 members of the academic community who have served the university for eight years since 2017, the year UNU Jogja was officially established as a university in Yogyakarta grounded in the values of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah.

The awards were presented during a grand assembly of the university community as part of the Leadership Transition Meeting for the Rector’s 2022–2026 term on Thursday, January 15. The moment served as both an institutional reflection and a tribute to lecturers and education staff who have grown alongside the university since its early years.

In her remarks, Widya expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the loyalty, hard work, and commitment of the award recipients who have supported the development of UNU Jogja from its foundational stage to its current progress. She emphasized that the institution’s achievements are the result of collective contributions from all elements of the campus community.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude and highest appreciation for your loyalty, hard work, and commitment in accompanying the development of UNU Jogja from its early phase to where it stands today. The progress of this institution would not have been possible without the collective contributions of the entire academic community,” she said.

According to the Rector, the eight-year journey of UNU Jogja has been filled with challenges as well as valuable lessons. The award recipients were recognized for demonstrating resilience, patience, and a strong spirit of dedication in building academic systems, governance structures, and a work culture that form the foundation of the university’s growth.

She also expressed hope that the spirit of service demonstrated by these individuals would inspire future generations within the university. She highlighted the importance of maintaining solidarity, professionalism, and a commitment to the quality of higher education rooted in Islamic and national values.

This event further marked UNU Jogja’s commitment to fostering a culture of appreciation for human resource dedication as part of strengthening institutional development. [Latifah]
