Encouraging Students to Master Scientific Writing Skills, PGSD UNU Jogja and UIN SUKA Hold Scientific Writing Seminar

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – The Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program of UNU Jogja held a Training on Scientific Article Writing in collaboration with Field Study students from the Master’s Program in Islamic Education (PAI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, at The Forum UNU Jogja on Tuesday, November 4. The activity was attended by fifth-semester PGSD students and aimed to strengthen academic networking as well as foster a culture of scientific writing among pre-service teachers.
In his opening remarks, PGSD UNU Jogja lecturer, Dr. Murdianto, emphasized the importance of writing skills for PGSD students as part of an intellectual process that carries lasting value. “Writing is an eternal knowledge; through writing, our ideas will live longer than our own lifespan,” he stated.
The first session was delivered by Salsabila I’tilaful Adzibah, S.Pd., who discussed the fundamentals of scientific article writing. She explained strategies for identifying relevant topics with elements of novelty and highlighted the importance of scientific writing in developing the professional identity of future teachers.
The second session, presented by Dzaky Nafi Anrasitda, S.Pd., elaborated on research methodology as the foundational aspect of article preparation. Through a systematic explanation, participants were guided to understand research processes in a structured and applicable manner for academic writing.
The third session, led by Salsabila Nur Imatul Adzillah, S.Pd., focused on publication ethics and scientific publishing skills. She emphasized that the quality of an academic writer is reflected not only in the quantity of published works, but also in maintaining academic integrity, accurate citation practices, and honesty in data presentation.
Event coordinator and PGSD UNU Jogja lecturer, Dr. Lita Ariyanti, expressed her hopes that this collaborative initiative between PGSD UNU Jogja and the Field Study students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga will build sustainable academic synergy in shaping future educators who are critical, productive, and committed to ethical scholarly practice.
