School Holiday Is Coming! Register Your Child for Playdate English & STEAM 2026

School holidays are often spent at home, watching screens, or engaging in unstructured activities. Yet, this period can also become a valuable opportunity to help children develop essential skills through meaningful and enjoyable experiences.

Instead of letting the holiday pass without direction, this is the right moment to offer children something different and more enriching.

The Center for Language Training and Service (CELTIS), Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja), presents Playdate English & STEAM 2026, an educational holiday program for elementary school students that combines English learning with the STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) through the concept of learning through play.

The program is a collaboration between CELTIS, the Faculty of Education (FIP), the English Language Education Study Program, and the Primary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD) at UNU Yogyakarta. It will be held on 7–10 July 2026 at UNU Yogyakarta Campus, from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB.

Here, children do not simply “learn” in a traditional sense—they experience learning in a more active and engaging way.

Through various activities such as Fun English Games, Creative STEAM Projects, and Team Challenges, children are encouraged to actively participate in a fun and exploratory learning environment. In this process, they are not only moving and playing, but also learning to communicate, collaborate, and think critically while solving challenges.

From these experiences, children gradually develop greater confidence, improve their English communication skills, and strengthen their creativity and critical thinking abilities. They also learn to adapt in group settings and develop more independent problem-solving skills in various situations.

Over the four-day program, participants will engage in interactive learning experiences guided by experienced tutors in a child-friendly, safe, and enjoyable environment. Each activity is designed so that children can learn comfortably while still enjoying the process without pressure.

As part of the program, participants will also receive learning kits, meals during the program, and a certificate of participation as an appreciation for their involvement.

The program is open to elementary school students from various schools with a registration fee of IDR 300,000 for UNU Jogja affiliates and IDR 350,000 for general participants.

For further information and registration, participants may contact the committee through Hariyanto Subiyantoro (0812-7527-6061) or Nunuk Melisa (0831-6350-9572). Due to the limited number of seats, early registration is strongly encouraged to avoid missing this opportunity.

By choosing this program, parents are not only filling their children’s holiday time, but also providing an experience that helps shape their thinking skills, confidence, and future readiness from an early age. [Latifah]
