Toward Globally Competitive Graduates, UNU Jogja Strengthens Its 2026 Academic Policy

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja) held its Academic Coordination Meeting for the Beginning of 2026 at the Pre-Function Hall, 5th Floor, on Tuesday, January 6. The meeting served as a strategic forum to align academic policies while strengthening academic services and learning quality to prepare students for global competition.

The meeting was led by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Competitiveness Acceleration, Prof. Ir. Nafiatul Umami, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D., IPM, who presented the university’s academic policy direction for 2026. She emphasized that transforming academic governance is essential to improving the quality and global competitiveness of UNU Jogja graduates.

“Universities today cannot rely only on administrative teaching. Every learning process must produce measurable learning outcomes that are relevant to current global demands and capable of strengthening students’ competitiveness. Through strengthened academic policies and the implementation of systems such as SiOBA, UNU Jogja is building a more adaptive, accountable, and quality-oriented learning ecosystem,” she said.

The forum also discussed the latest academic regulations, an evaluation of the ongoing semester, and efforts to strengthen inter-unit synergy to ensure that academic policies are implemented in line with the university’s vision and mission.

At the same time, the Directorate of Academic Governance, in collaboration with the UNU Jogja Digital Team, conducted a socialization session and workshop on the Outcome-Based Assessment System (SiOBA). The system was developed to support the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) while improving academic services and learning effectiveness.

SiOBA is designed as an integrated system covering all stages of the learning process, from the preparation of course plans (RPKPS) to classroom implementation, evaluation, and the management of lecturers’ academic portfolios. Through this system, learning processes are expected to become more systematic, measurable, and well-documented, while also strengthening the quality and accountability of lecturers’ performance.

Through this initiative, UNU Jogja reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academic governance through policy reform, cross-unit collaboration, and the continuous use of digital systems to support sustainable quality improvement in higher education. [Latifah]
