UNU Jogja Library Officially Earns A Accreditation from the National Library, Strengthening Its Position as a Quality University in Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — The Library of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja) has officially earned an A (Excellent) Accreditation from the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpusnas RI). The achievement is stated in Accreditation Certificate No. AKR.03.00/3465/2025, issued in Jakarta on November 6, 2025.

Head of the UNU Jogja Library, Abdulloh Badruzzaman, explained that the excellent accreditation aligns with the library’s significant progress in recent years, including improvements in institutional governance, management systems, human resources, collections, facilities and infrastructure, as well as continuous service innovations.

“This accreditation demonstrates that the UNU Jogja Library has met and complied with the National Library Standards established by the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Badruzzaman.

However, he emphasized that the achievement does not mark an endpoint. Instead, the A accreditation serves as a strong motivation to continuously enhance service quality and provide the best possible support for library users.

Currently, the UNU Jogja Library houses thousands of printed and digital collections, complemented by reference materials and locally produced academic content from the university community. Collection development and weeding are conducted regularly to ensure relevance and currency.

In terms of facilities, the library is supported by a representative building with comfortable service areas, information technology and computer facilities, disability-friendly access, and a safe, conducive environment for visitors.

Library management is also strengthened by professionally qualified librarians, supported by technical staff. Continuous capacity building is carried out through training and librarian certification programs, enabling the provision of diverse services ranging from circulation and reference services to digital services and socially inclusive library programs.

“We hope this achievement will further position the UNU Jogja Library as a pillar of literacy and a center of knowledge for the academic community and the wider public,” Badruzzaman concluded. [Latifah]
