Jakarta, Indonesia — Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja) won two awards at the 2025 Higher Education, Science, and Technology Awards (Diktisaintek). The university received a Silver Winner award for website management and a Bronze Winner award for institutional collaboration.
The awards were presented directly by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek), Brian Yuliarto, in Jakarta, Friday, December 19, 2025. Acting Rector of UNU Jogja, Suhadi Cholil, was present to receive the awards on behalf of the university.
As one of the private universities in Yogyakarta, this achievement marks a significant milestone for UNU Jogja. The 2025 Diktisaintek Awards recognize higher education institutions, Higher Education Service Institutions (LLDikti), business and industry partners, as well as institutions and individuals who have made tangible contributions to improving the quality of higher education, research, innovation, and governance in science and technology in Indonesia. In 2025, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology granted 572 awards across 15 subcategories.
Minister Brian Yuliarto expressed his appreciation to all award recipients for their performance and contributions in supporting ministerial policies.
“To today’s award recipients, allow me to leave you with a message. Never feel that you are finished, never feel satisfied—keep contributing. Let this award serve as motivation so that our nation can stand on equal footing with developed countries around the world,” he said.
UNU Jogja received its two awards in different categories. The first was under the Diktisaintek Public Relations Awards for the Private University category, subcategory Website Management, where the Directorate of Communication of UNU Jogja earned the Silver Winner (Second Place) at the national level.
The second award came from the Diktisaintek Collaboration Awards, participated in by the Directorate of Cooperation of UNU Jogja, under the Private University category and the subcategory Collaboration with Government Institutions/Non-Governmental Organizations. A research collaboration initiated by lecturers and students from the Faculty of Information Technology titled “Smart Farming: Synergy between UNU Yogyakarta, Local Government, and Islamic Boarding Schools for Village Self-Reliance” secured the Bronze Winner (Third Place) at the national level.
“These awards are an end-of-year gift for UNU Jogja as a private university in Yogyakarta. They are the result of our collective hard work. May they bring widespread blessings to our academic community, jami’yah, jama’ah, and society at large,” said Suhadi. [Arif]
