Yogyakarta, Indonesia - UNU Jogja has once again achieved international recognition. Its flagship program, “No One Left Behind: Inclusive Education for Everybody”, has officially been shortlisted for the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025 in the Access, Diversity & Inclusion category.
The QS Reimagine Education Awards is a prestigious global competition celebrating innovation in higher education and educational technology. The awards highlight initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in learning outcomes, graduate employability, and sustainable education.
The QS Reimagine Education Awards feature 18 categories, including Access, Diversity & Inclusion; AI in Education; Best Use of Generative AI; Immersive Experiential Learning; Innovation in Business Education; Lifelong Learning; Sustainability Education; and The Power of Partnerships.
This year, QS received over 1,600 submissions from around the world across 18 award categories. Following the first round of evaluations by more than 800 international judges, UNU Jogja’s program placed in the top 20 percent globally, joining 320 selected programs and surpassing approximately 1,200 others.
UNU Jogja has submitted its *No One Left Behind* program, an inclusive education initiative ensuring that students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and students with disability can access quality, dignified, and equitable higher education.
As Muammar Zayn Qadafy, the Director of Global Recognition at UNU Jogja, said, the achievement reflects global recognition of the university’s commitment to providing inclusive higher education. Through this milestone at the QS Reimagine Education Awards, UNU Jogja strengthens its international visibility by showcasing educational innovations to a global audience, including other universities and policymakers.
“This program has been continuously implemented since UNU Jogja’s founding in 2017 and has been strengthened over time, particularly through scholarship schemes that benefit 85 percent of students, academic support services, and inclusive campus policies,” Muammar explained.
Winners of Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards will be determined after the judging stage. In the final round, a panel of more than 50 international experts will select finalists who will present their programs to compete for the grand prize of USD 25,000.
Suhadi Cholil, Acting Rector of UNU Jogja, praised the university’s global recognition at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2025.
“This demonstrates that the inclusive and equitable education model developed by UNU Jogja is gaining international acknowledgment. The conference, pitching sessions, and showcases at this competition also open opportunities for new collaborations, idea exchange, and even external support to further expand our programs,” he said.
