Yogyakarta, Indonesia — The Informatics Study Program of UNU Jogja, in collaboration with the Informatics Student Association (HIMATIKA), held the Web3 Week Asia Road to Campus event under the theme “From Campus to Blockchain: Start Your Career in Web3” on Thursday (6/11). The program is part of the Web3 Week Asia series initiated by Blockchainity in partnership with the EDENA community to introduce developments in blockchain technology to university students.
The event featured speakers from various sectors within the Web3 ecosystem, including Rofiq Muhammad (Co-Founder of Web3 Week Asia), Yayang Ruzaldy (Director of EDENA Capital Nusantara), Cresentia Chrisfabi (Community Engagement Executive at Tokocrypto), Jodi Kalim (SEA Marketing Manager at Ave.AI), and Ghoza (Smart Contract Engineer at IDRX). The speakers shared insights on blockchain technology, industry growth, and emerging career opportunities in the field.
Head of the Informatics Study Program at UNU Jogja, Yana Hendriana, emphasized the importance of higher education institutions providing access to emerging technologies that shape digital and economic structures. “Universities must act as a bridge between academic knowledge and the dynamics of technological innovation. Through this program, students are expected to understand digital transformation and develop relevant competencies,” he said.
During the discussion, Rofiq Muhammad highlighted that Web3 is not only associated with digital assets but also with data governance, digital identity, and decentralized network ecosystems. “Students need to recognize that Web3 is not just a trend, but part of an ongoing digital transformation,” he stated.
Yayang Ruzaldy stressed the importance of adaptability for young generations. “Technology will continue to evolve. Those willing to learn and adapt will have greater opportunities to participate meaningfully,” he explained.
From the industry perspective, Cresentia Chrisfabi noted that students have broad opportunities to engage through communities and collaborative projects. Meanwhile, Ghoza emphasized the growing demand for skilled talent in blockchain development, particularly smart contract engineers and decentralized systems developers.
As a follow-up initiative, the organizers provided 20 special tickets for UNU Jogja students to participate in the main Web3 Week Asia event in Jakarta. [Latifah]
