19 SII Students at UNU Jogja Selected for Kemenag’s Prima Magang PTKI Program

Yogyakarta, Indonesia - Students of the Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies (SII) Study Program at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja) are participating in an internship program through the Professional Readiness Through Internship and Mentor for Academics at Islamic Higher Education Institutions, or Prima Magang PTKI. The program, initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, is designed to provide students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the professional world.

From September to December 2026, 19 UNU Jogja students are gaining practical experience across various industries. Among them, six students are placed at PT Jaminan Produk Halal as halal advisors, seven at PT Konsultan Wakaf Indonesia as Digital Waqf Raisers, and three at PT Edukasi Wakaf Indonesia as Waqf Educators.

In addition, one student is placed at the Yogyakarta Natural Resources Conservation Agency (Balai KSDA Yogyakarta) as an assistant analyst, one at PT Kalimaya Alunna Indonesia in production and R&D, and one at PT Bank BTPN as a facilitator.

In addition to being selected for the Prima Magang PTKI program, two other SII students at UNU Jogja were selected for independent internship placements at the Yogyakarta Cultural Office and the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) in Jakarta. 

Head of the SII Study Program at UNU Jogja, Dr. Nasih Burhani, said the program provides students with an opportunity to connect the knowledge they gain in the classroom with the professional world. According to him, the participation of SII students in this year’s program demonstrates the study program’s promising prospects in the industrial and professional sectors.

“This program is very important in connecting the knowledge and skills acquired on campus with the professional world. The significant number of SII students accepted into the program shows that the SII Study Program has very promising prospects in the business and professional sectors,” he said on Monday (21/9).

This year marks the second consecutive year that SII students have been selected for the Prima Magang PTKI program. Dr. Nasih said that the SII Study Program continues to encourage students to actively participate in programs that contribute to their personal and career development. Student participation in internships is one of the efforts to broaden their experience while familiarizing them with professional work environments.

Dr. Nasih hopes that students will make the most of the program to gain meaningful work experience and develop competencies relevant to their chosen professional fields.
