SII UNU Jogja Alumnus Appointed Professional Teacher at MCAS Darul Arqam Singapore

Singapore - One of the 2019 alumni of the Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies (SII) Program at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja), Naufal bin Haji Mohd Noor Tijany, has been appointed as a professional teacher at the Muslim Converts’ Association of Singapore (MCAS) Darul Arqam for the 2026 academic year.

MCAS Darul Arqam is an institution appointed by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) as the One-Stop Centre for Converts (OSCC) since 2005. The institution plays an important role in facilitating administrative services, guidance, education, and various needs of Muslim converts in Singapore.

In his assignment, Naufal is entrusted to teach the Beginners Course on Islam (BCI), a foundational Islamic learning program for Muslim converts and individuals interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Islam.  

This achievement reflects the contribution of UNU Jogja alumni at the international level, particularly in the fields of Islamic education and da’wah.

“The trust given by MCAS Darul Arqam reflects the capacity of UNU Jogja alumni, particularly from the SII Department, to promote moderate Islamic values, education, and community service within the global community,” said Mohammad Rofiqi, lecturer of the SII Department at UNU Jogja. 

The presence of alumni in strategic institutions such as MCAS is also expected to strengthen the university’s international network in Islamic education and Muslim community empowerment. [Latifah]
