UNU Jogja Community Wins Multiple Awards at LPTNU Awards 2026

Surabaya, Indonesia – The academic community of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja) received multiple honors at the 2026 LPTNU Awards, organized by the Lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi Nahdlatul Ulama (LPTNU) in Surabaya on Tuesday, March 10.

The LPTNU Awards are an appreciation event presented to individuals and universities under the Nahdlatul Ulama higher education network that demonstrate outstanding performance in academic achievements, research, innovation, and student accomplishments at both national and international levels.

Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Social Transformation at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta, Suhadi Cholil, stated that the awards serve as motivation for the academic community to continuously improve research quality and student achievements.

“This recognition shows that the academic community of UNU Jogja is capable of contributing to the development of knowledge, innovation, and student achievement at the national level. We hope this accomplishment will motivate us to continue creating meaningful contributions for society,” he said.

At the event, UNU Jogja secured five awards across several categories, including Influential Scientific Achievement (Lecturer Category), Outstanding Student in Academic Achievement, Outstanding Student in Sports Achievement, and Research and Community Service Institution.

In the Influential Scientific Achievement category, first place was awarded to I Nyoman Apraz Ramatryana, Ph.D., while third place was secured by Gandeva Bayu Satrya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. Both are lecturers from the Electrical Engineering Department of UNU Jogja.

In the Outstanding Student category for academic achievement, Muhammad Dafa Dwi Andika from the English Education Department earned third place. Meanwhile, in the Outstanding Student category for sports achievement, Dhany Dwi Saputra from the Electrical Engineering Department won second place thanks to his accomplishments in various national-level Pencak Silat competitions.

In the Research and Community Service Institution category, the award was presented to the Centre for Sharia Finance and Digital Economy, a research center under Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta focusing on the development of Islamic finance, digital economy, and research innovations that benefit society.

Chairman of Lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi Nahdlatul Ulama, Ainun Na’im, expressed hope that the awards would inspire all Nahdlatul Ulama universities to continue improving their academic quality and achievements across various fields.

“We hope this initiative will motivate all NU-affiliated universities to keep progressing and achieving excellence, while strengthening the role of higher education in advancing knowledge and empowering society,” he said.

The awards received at the 2026 LPTNU Awards reflect the ongoing commitment of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta to building a strong academic tradition that is innovative and impactful.
