UNU Jogja Lecturers Encouraged to Complete OBE-Based RPKPS Ahead of the 2026/2027 Academic Year

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja), as a university accelerating its quality improvement efforts, continues to promote the enhancement of teaching and learning quality in the classroom. Through the Directorate of Academic and Curriculum Innovation, the university in Yogyakarta held a Workshop on the Development of Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-Based Semester Learning Plans and Activities (RPKPS) 2026 on Friday, September 4.

Director of Academic and Curriculum Innovation at UNU Jogja, Harisna Hikmah, said the workshop was a follow-up to a series of OBE-based curriculum redesign activities aimed at enhancing lecturers’ understanding and skills in developing RPKPS aligned with OBE principles.

“Through this workshop, we hope that lecturers will develop the skills needed to prepare OBE-based RPKPS. Our target is for each study program to submit its respective RPKPS today. These RPKPS documents will then be further processed so that they are ready to be implemented in the new academic year,” she said.

The workshop featured Prof. Nafiatul Umami, Professor at Universitas Gadjah Mada and former Acting Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Competitiveness Acceleration at UNU Jogja for the 2022–2026 period, as the speaker.

In her remarks, Prof. Nafiatul Umami appreciated UNU Jogja’s achievements over the past several years. She noted that, as a relatively young university in Yogyakarta, UNU Jogja has demonstrated rapid and significant progress in improving the quality of learning as well as institutional achievements.

“As UNU Jogja approaches its institutional accreditation, I can see how quickly the university has moved forward. Many achievements have been accomplished, including improvements in study program accreditation, the library’s achievement of an Excellent rating, and student accomplishments in local, national, and global competitions. This has also been followed by an increase in the number of research projects conducted by lecturers and the research funding they have secured,” she said.

She also highlighted the preparations undertaken by the Directorate of Academic and Curriculum Innovation at UNU Jogja for the 2026/2027 academic year, particularly in responding to the new policy on the implementation of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). According to her, such preparedness is an important part of ensuring that the learning process is aligned with academic standards and needs.

“I greatly appreciate the hard work and smart work of the UNU Jogja team in introducing various innovations and accelerating efforts to improve the quality of learning. I hope that following this meeting, all lecturers will be able to produce their RPKPS as a foundation for the development of the Semester Learning and Activity Program (PKPS),” she concluded.*
