Field Study Complete, FIP UNU Jogja Sends Off UIN Sunan Kalijaga Master's Students Ready to Enter Education World

Yogyakarta, Indonesia - The Faculty of Education (FIP) at UNU Jogja bid farewell to nine master’s students from the Islamic Education Management (MPI) and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) programs at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta on Wednesday, May 28, after they completed a one-and-a-half-month field study program at the UNU Jogja campus.

The send-off ceremony was held in person on the seventh floor of the UNU Jogja campus and was attended by field supervisors from UNU Jogja: Diah Puji Lestari, Murdianto, and Taufan Jannata.

“This program provides a real space for students to directly experience the dynamics of educational institutions while applying practical approaches from the theories they have learned. It is part of UNU’s commitment to supporting a cross-campus collaborative learning ecosystem,” said Diah Puji Lestari, who also serves as Secretary of the PGSD Study Program at UNU Jogja.

She added that this field study also strengthens students’ leadership, educational management, and social sensitivity to institutional and learning issues.

The program was a collaboration between UNU Jogja and the Graduate Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Present at the send-off were the Head of the MPI Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Nur Saidah, and the Head of the PAI Study Program, Dwi Ratnasari.

According to Nur Saidah, this field experience is an important avenue for students to develop professional skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

“This experience strengthens students’ intellectual and emotional readiness to face increasingly complex educational challenges,” she said.

During the program, students were involved in observing learning systems, managing academic programs, and interacting with institutional structures. In addition, they produced scholarly articles published in journals and other academic media.

This activity is expected to become a model of collaboration among Islamic educational institutions in preparing graduates who excel both academically and in application. [Latifah]
