UNU Yogyakarta Holds Halalbihalal, Strengthening Bonds and Boosting Performance

Yogyakarta, Indonesia - A warm and joyful atmosphere filled the Hall of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama (UNU) Yogyakarta on Monday, March 30, as the university held its annual Halalbihalal gathering for employees. The event served as a moment of mutual forgiveness and strengthened ties following the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.

University leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, and employees came together to exchange greetings and apologies for past mistakes. The gathering was also attended by the Rector of UNU Yogyakarta for the 2017–2022 period, Prof. Purwo Santoso.

Continuing a long-standing campus tradition, participants recited the UNU Yogyakarta Syawalan Pledge together, reaffirming their sincerity in forgiving one another. The event became even more meaningful with a religious talk delivered by Nyai Rindang Farihah, who highlighted the wisdom of fasting and the Halalbihalal tradition from medical, mental health, and social perspectives.

Beyond strengthening relationships, the event also marked the resumption of academic activities after the Eid holiday. Acting Rector Fahmy Akbar Idries emphasized that the return to campus in the month of Syawal should serve as momentum to improve performance.

“The improvement of our performance goes hand in hand with the preparation of a new vision and mission that will guide our future steps,” he said.

The rectorate is currently preparing several major agendas, including the 2026 student admissions process and study program accreditation. “We must maximize our efforts because there is still much work to be completed,” Fahmy added. [Arif]
