Student Entrepreneurial Independence in the Spotlight, Agribusiness Program Holds Entrepreneurship Webinar

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — The Agribusiness Study Program of  UNU Jogja continues to strengthen students’ entrepreneurial spirit through the organization of a Special Resolution 2026 Webinar titled ‘Becoming an Impactful Entrepreneur: Socialization and Technical Guidance for the GenKBiz Competition by KB Bank.’ The event was held in collaboration with Semut Nusantara and KB Bank as strategic partners.

The webinar, which was attended by 114 students from various study programs at UNU Jogja, aimed to foster entrepreneurial independence and encourage students to confidently enter the world of entrepreneurship.

The Head of the Agribusiness Study Program at UNU Jogja, Nur Saudah Al Arifa D., S.T.P., M.Sc., stated that the beginning of the year is a strategic moment to instill new spirit and resolutions among students.

“The new year is a strategic momentum to build new enthusiasm and resolutions for students. It is a good starting point to encourage them not only to become job seekers, but also job creators through entrepreneurship that carries social values and sustainability,” she said on Friday, January 2.

She added that this activity reflects the Agribusiness Study Program’s commitment to preparing graduates who are not only competitive in the job market, but also capable of creating employment opportunities that consider social, economic, and sustainability aspects.

In line with this initiative, Cindy Yoshiko, a representative of KB Bank Headquarters, welcomed the program introduced by the Agribusiness Study Program of UNU Jogja. According to her, the activity aligns with KB Bank’s commitment to supporting the development of youth entrepreneurship through the GenKBiz program, which is designed as a platform for students to develop innovative, competitive business ideas oriented toward social impact.

During the discussion session, Haelvyn Pratagrahana from Semut Nusantara presented the concept of impact entrepreneurship as a future business model. She emphasized that entrepreneurship today should not merely focus on financial profit, but must also address social, economic, and environmental challenges simultaneously.

In addition, Haelvyn provided practical technical guidance on business idea development, ranging from identifying societal problems and utilizing local potential to designing business models ready to be submitted to the GenKBiz by KB Bank competition. Participants were also equipped with an understanding of assessment criteria, innovation strategies, and the importance of business sustainability.

Nur Saudah expressed her hope that through this activity, students would become more motivated to innovate, compete, and take concrete steps toward realizing impactful business ideas. She also conveyed her appreciation and gratitude to KB Bank and Semut Nusantara for the collaboration, and expressed hope that similar partnerships could continue to be developed in the future.
