Lively Celebration! UNU Jogja Library Presents the Harmony of Literacy and Art on the Expression Stage

Yogyakarta, Indonesia - The Library of UNU Jogja held a Book Review and Expression Stage of the Friends of UNU Jogja Library with the theme “Traces of Words, Colors of Expression: Harmony in Literacy and Art”, in collaboration with Gramedia Asri Media, at the Amphitheater, 2nd Floor of UNU Jogja, on Thursday, April 24. The event featured Tri Prasetyo, Editor-in-Chief of Gradien Mediatama Publishing; Mas Koko Ganteng, best-selling author of “Maafkan Kami Ya, Nak”; and Fatwa Aulia Sudrajat, Acquisition Editor at Gradien Mediatama.

Head of the UNU Jogja Library, Abdulloh Badruzzaman, explained that the event aimed to encourage young generations to enhance their literacy while providing a platform for UNU Jogja students to express their individual talents and creativity.
“A library is not only a place to read books but also a space for expression and collaboration, where students can continue to grow and make a positive impact on their surroundings. Through this book discussion, we invite students to learn and cultivate literacy beyond the classroom,” he said.

The event, attended by hundreds of participants from various institutions and the general public, began with the singing of Indonesia Raya and was enlivened by a series of performances from UNU Jogja students. Performances included the traditional dance Nguri-Nguri Budaya by Sekar Jagad Tiga, the creative dance Gusti Ayu Astini by the UNU Jogja Dance Student Club, poetry musicalization by Ilmi Himadani, a music band performance by Florence Music Club, Jurus Seni Tunggal IPSI martial arts by the Pencak Silat Club, solo vocals by Sahrul Jihad and Adinda Octa, acoustic solo by Raihan Julianto A, solo dance by Tris Fizar Ichcan, and a single dance performance by Sindi Fatikasari.

The lively performances successfully warmed up the atmosphere, entertaining both speakers and participants throughout the event.
“Thank you for inviting me—this is my first time visiting a UNU campus in Indonesia. UNU Jogja is amazing!” said Mas Koko Ganteng, one of the speakers.
