NU Cadre Training, UNU Jogja Ready to Face the Challenges of the Second Century

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama (UNU) Jogja organized the NU Cadre Strengthening Training specifically for its academic community on Monday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 27. The program was held to reinforce NU’s ideology and institutional commitment based on ahlussunnah wal jama’ah an-nahdliyah.

The training was divided into two sessions. The first session, on August 25, was designated for lecturers and management staff, while the second session on August 27 was attended by educational staff. The activities took place from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at UNU Jogja’s campus.

Acting Rector of UNU Jogja, Suhadi Cholil, emphasized that participation was mandatory for all members of the academic community. “This training is not merely a formality but an ideological as well as spiritual provision so that UNU Jogja’s academic community has a strong foundation in developing both the campus and society,” he said.

The training featured three main speakers: Secretary of PWNU DIY Muhajir, NU Cadre Training Instructor KH Mukhtar Salim, and UNU Jogja’s Vice Rector for Social Transformation and Pesantren Affairs Abdul Ghoffar.

According to Abdul Ghoffar, NU’s second century marks a crucial momentum for NU-affiliated higher education institutions. “Universities under NU, such as UNU Jogja, must come forward with ideas and concrete actions to address the challenges of our time,” he stated.

The training materials covered NU’s history, doctrine, and values; the challenges of NU’s second century; NU’s vision and mission; as well as UNU Jogja’s positioning within the context of Nahdlatul Ulama. Through this program, UNU Jogja reaffirmed its commitment to becoming an independent, innovative, and competitive university, while strengthening the role of its academic community in carrying NU’s vision in higher education.
