Acting Rector of UNU Yogyakarta Inaugurates 58 New Officials, Strengthening Institutional Transformation 2026–2030

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – The Acting Rector of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja), Fahmy Akbar Idries, officially inaugurated 58 new officials across the university for the 2026–2030 term on Monday, May 4.

The inauguration covered a wide range of strategic positions, including Vice Rectors, Directors, Coordinators, Deans, Vice Deans, Heads of Study Programs, Secretaries of Study Programs, and Heads of Technical Implementation Units (UPT), including the Disability Services Unit (ULD).

In his remarks, Fahmy emphasized that the inauguration was not merely a formal administrative process, but a strategic step to strengthen governance and accelerate the university’s transformation.

“This inauguration is part of our collective effort to build UNU Yogyakarta into an adaptive, professional institution that can respond to the challenges of the times,” he stated.

He also highlighted the importance of collaboration, integrity, and a strong sense of service in carrying out leadership responsibilities within the university.

Fahmy further quoted a statement from the Chairman of PBNU, Yahya Cholil Staquf:
“Every word must become action, every action must be real, every reality must be measurable, and every measurable result must be sustainable.”

Through this message, he encouraged all members of the academic community to move beyond discourse and deliver concrete, measurable, and sustainable contributions to institutional development.

Echoing this perspective, the Chairman of Tanfidziyah PWNU DIY, KH. Ahmad Zuhdi Muhdlor, emphasized that leadership in higher education must be grounded in NU values and contribute meaningfully to society.

“NU-based universities must serve as centers of knowledge and community service rooted in the values of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah,” he said.
