UNU Jogja Equips Management Students with SAP Analytics Cloud Skills through ASEAN Data Science Program

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – The Management Study Program at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Yogyakarta (UNU Jogja) organized a SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) training session for its 2024 cohort as part of its efforts to strengthen students' competencies in data analytics and data visualization in the digital era. The training served as preparation for students to participate in the Enablement Session of the ASEAN Data Science Explorers (ASEAN DSE) 2026, a regional talent development program in data science for young people across Southeast Asia.

The online training was conducted via Microsoft Teams and featured Dr. Noor Fazilla Binti Abd Yusof from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) as the guest instructor. During the session, participants learned how to use SAP Analytics Cloud for data visualization, enhanced their analytical and problem-solving skills, and gained insights into preparing for the ASEAN DSE 2026 Competition.

Novi Diah Wulandari, Head of the Management Study Program at UNU Jogja, said that data analytics has become an essential competency across various industries. Therefore, Management students need hands-on experience with analytical platforms that are widely used in professional settings.

"Today's Management graduates are expected not only to understand business management theories but also to interpret, analyze, and manage data as a basis for strategic decision-making. Through SAP Analytics Cloud training, students gain direct exposure to an industry-standard analytics platform, enabling them to develop skills that are more relevant to the demands of the modern workplace," Novi said on Monday, July 20.

She added that these competencies would also provide students with greater opportunities to participate in international programs and competitions while enhancing their competitiveness in the global job market.

Throughout the training, participants explored various features of SAP Analytics Cloud, including data processing, interactive dashboard creation, and data-driven decision-making. Beyond strengthening technical skills, the program was designed to cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through a data-driven approach.

Students who complete the program and fulfill the required criteria will also be eligible to receive an e-certificate jointly issued by the ASEAN Foundation and SAP. The certificate recognizes participants' successful completion of a regional digital skills development program.

As a university in Yogyakarta committed to strengthening students' competencies in technology and digital transformation, UNU Yogyakarta continues to offer learning opportunities that align with the evolving needs of global industries. Through initiatives such as this training, the university aims to prepare students to compete internationally while equipping them with the analytical skills required in today's data-driven professional landscape.
