Synergy between UNU Jogja and LP Ma'arif NU DIY: Creating Golden Generation 2025 through Aswaja Character Education

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – UNU Jogja continues to strengthen its role in education transformation through collaboration with LP Ma’arif NU PWNU DIY. On Wednesda, July 16, the university hosted a strategic meeting at the 5th-floor Pre-Function Hall with 72 high school and special-needs school principals and vice principals from Ma’arif schools across DIY.
The meeting served not only as an institutional networking forum but also as a collaborative space to explore ways to enhance education quality, including promoting the 2025/2026 student admissions.
Vice-Rector for Social Transformation and Pesantren Affairs, Abdul Ghoffar, opened the event by presenting UNU Jogja’s transformation vision and strategic developments. During the discussion, External Pesantren Director M. Alfuniam, Social Laboratory Director Saeroni, and Acting Admissions Director Tri Yuliani shared detailed insights on institutional support programs for partner schools.
School leaders appreciated the direct engagement with UNU Jogja’s leadership and expressed hopes for follow-up initiatives, such as teacher training, student mentoring, curriculum strengthening based on Aswaja and national values, and participation in the university’s Social Laboratory network.
Tadkiroatun Musfiroh, Chair of LP Ma’arif NU PWNU DIY, praised UNU Jogja’s initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between universities and secondary education institutions to nurture a generation that is intellectually capable and grounded in NU and national values.
UNU Jogja reaffirmed its commitment to building an inclusive, collaborative education ecosystem aimed at developing NU youth with strong character, ready to face modern challenges. Through this inter-institutional collaboration, the university aims to expand its role as a center for Islamic education transformation that excels academically while upholding Islamic, national, and humanitarian values.
