Synergy in Higher Education, UNU Jogja Welcomes Field Study of 13 Master’s Students from UIN Sunan Kalijaga

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – The Elementary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD) of UNU Jogja welcomed 13 master’s students from Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in a field study program on Tuesday, October 30. The participants consisted of seven students from the Master’s Program in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and six students from the Master’s Program in Islamic Education Management (MPI).
The Head of PGSD at UNU Jogja, Mustamid, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the trust given by UIN Sunan Kalijaga to UNU Jogja. He emphasized that this collaboration marks an important momentum to strengthen academic synergy while opening space for research collaboration and the development of educational practices at the elementary level.
From UIN Sunan Kalijaga, the Head of the Master’s Program in PAI, Dr. Dwi Ratnasari, M.Ag., stated that field study is a strategic means for students to gain real-life experiences. According to her, the integration of theory and practice is a crucial step in preparing master’s graduates who are adaptive to the needs of education.
In line with this, the Head of the Master’s Program in MPI, Dr. Nur Saidah, M.Ag., added that institutional interaction is an essential part of enhancing the quality of research-based education while improving managerial practices in Islamic education. She hopes that this collaboration can pave the way for joint research and innovative programs relevant to the challenges of elementary education.
The event was also attended by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education at UNU Jogja, Dr. Hariyanto Subiyantoro, M.Pd., the Secretary of the PGSD Program, Dr. Taufan Jannata, M.Pd., AIFO., and the activity PIC, Dr. Lita Ariyanti. The presence of leaders from both institutions reflects their joint commitment to strengthening academic networking across universities.
Through this program, UNU Jogja and UIN Sunan Kalijaga hope to foster closer partnerships in knowledge development, research, and educational innovation. Academic collaboration and practical engagement in elementary education are expected not only to enrich student experiences but also to bring positive impacts on improving the quality of education in Indonesia.
