The Dean of the Faculty of Economics at UNU Jogja flew to Taiwan to meet with the Leading Science and Technology Campus and Robotics-Based Industry

Yogyakarta, Indonesia - UNU Jogja continues to make its mark on the global stage by collaborating with universities and companies worldwide. This time, the dean of the faculty of economics at UNU Jogja, Diah Wulandaru, participated in the “Global Networking 2025: Indonesia–Taiwan University Partnership” event, which took place from May 12–15, 2025, in Taiwan.

The collaboration involved visits and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNU Jogja and six Indonesian universities, as well as Taiwanese universities and corporations. These collaborations involve Yunlin University of Science and Technology (Yuntech), I-Shou University, Chenbro Micom Co. Ltd., and Fulgent Sun Group.

"There are many collaborations we can pursue from the 'Global Networking 2025: Indonesia–Taiwan University Partnership agenda, such as student exchanges, internships, research, guest lectures, visiting professors, and other collaborative learning initiatives," said Diah, who represented UNU Jogja in the program.

She explained that the first visit took place on Monday, May 12, at Chenbro Micom Co. Ltd., a company that specializes in mechatronics architecture within information and communication technology. Founded in 1983, Chenbro Micom is renowned for manufacturing PC chassis with high innovation standards.

That same day, the agenda continued to Fulgent Sun Group, a global shoe manufacturer that uses advanced technology, including robots, to produce shoes. In addition to having factories in China, Vietnam, and Cambodia, Fulgent is preparing a new factory in Indramayu, West Java, which will begin operations in October of this year.

The following day, Tuesday, May 13, the delegation visited Yunlin University of Science and Technology (Yuntech), a leading science and technology university in Taiwan. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNU Jogja and Yuntech was signed during a meeting in Indonesia on December 11, 2024.

The final destination of the “Global Networking 2025: Indonesia-Taiwan University Partnership” was I-Shou University, a Taiwanese university that focuses on international cooperation and student exchange.

Through this program, UNU Jogja is committed to implementing various cooperation schemes with Taiwanese universities and industry stakeholders to improve educational quality and produce globally competitive professionals. "Following this visit, UNU Jogja, along with six other universities, will follow up on all agreements," concluded Diah. (Arif)
