Yogyakarta, Indonesia - Friday, April 25, 2025. The Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama (UNU) Jogja, in collaboration with the Informatics Student Association (HMP), organized a public lecture titled InformaTalks FTI UNU Jogja: “Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare Industry.” The event also marked an important milestone with the signing of a cooperation agreement between FTI UNU Jogja and the technology company Data Sorcerers.
The dean of the FTI, Mochamad Syamsiro, stated that the event aims to broaden students', faculty members', and the general public's horizons regarding the strategic role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the development of the healthcare industry.
"This strategic collaboration with Data Sorcerers is part of our commitment to bringing AI technology innovations to the healthcare sector while expanding students’ knowledge and preparing them to become relevant experts in line with industry demands. Additionally, through this public lecture, participants will learn how AI technology can support medical diagnosis, manage patient data, enable more accurate and efficient decision-making in healthcare services, and advance bioinformatics," he said.
The Head of the Computer Science Program, Yana Hendriana, added that the event is part of FTI UNU Jogja's and the Computer Science Program's ongoing efforts to strengthen the connection between academia and industry. "We hope this activity can serve as a bridge connecting academic ideas and industrial practices, particularly in the field of AI-based health technology," he said.
The highlight of today’s event was the signing of a cooperation agreement between FTI UNU Jogja and Data Sorcerers, a company that specializes in developing data-driven solutions and artificial intelligence. FTI UNU Jogja Dean Dr. Mochamad Syamsiro and Data Sorcerers Founder Marchel Andrian Shevchenko signed the agreement. FTI Vice Dean Fadmi Rina expressed hope that this collaboration will create opportunities for research, internships, curriculum development, and implementing innovative projects that align with industry needs.
“Through this collaboration, FTI UNU Jogja aims to provide students with practical and relevant skills that align with the latest technological advancements,” he said.
