UNU Jogja Explores Cooperation with PCNU Salatiga to Strengthen NU Human Resources

Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia — The Directorate of Pesantren Affairs at UNU Jogja initiated a cooperation dialogue with the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Board (PCNU) of Salatiga at the PCNU office on Friday, September 12. The visit was warmly welcomed by the Chairman of PCNU Salatiga, Kiai H. Muslikh, M.M., along with his board.

Vice Rector of UNU Jogja, Abdul Ghoffar, stated that this agenda was a strategic step to strengthen collaboration in developing Nahdliyyin (members of Nahdlatul Ulama, Indonesia’s largest Muslim organization) human resources, particularly in the Salatiga region.
“As a campus dedicated to preparing cadres of Nahdliyyin, UNU Jogja is present for the jamaah. From here, we want to invite young Nahdliyyin in Salatiga to grow and develop together with UNU Jogja,” he said.

He further added that UNU Jogja continues to establish itself as a progressive private university through various programs and collaborations, both at the national and international levels.
“We currently have 11 study programs across 5 faculties. In the near future, UNU Jogja, as a cadre-based NU campus, will also open a new study program in Metallurgy. This program will become one of the icons of Nahdlatul Ulama’s advancement,” he explained.

Chairman of PCNU Salatiga, Kiai H. Muslikh, welcomed the initiative of UNU Jogja. He emphasized that the cooperation is expected to create synergy between the academic sphere and the NU jamaah base, thereby nurturing a young generation that excels not only academically but also in character and dedication to the community.
