UNU Jogja Graduate Secures Prestigious China Scholarship Council Scholarship

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – As a university that continuously fosters globally competitive graduates, Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU) Jogja once again celebrates a proud achievement. Ahmad Khoirul Fajeri, an alumnus of the Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Information Technology, has earned a prestigious full scholarship from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to pursue a Master’s degree at Nankai University, China.

According to the official Admission Notice from Nankai University, Fajeri was accepted into the School of Software for the Master’s Degree in Software Engineering program, taught in English. The study period runs from September 2025 to July 2027.

The CSC scholarship covers tuition fees, accommodation, comprehensive health insurance, and a living stipend throughout the study period. “This is a great opportunity to expand my knowledge and international network. I’m deeply grateful to UNU Jogja for equipping me with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to keep learning,” Fajeri shared.

During his time at UNU Jogja, Fajeri was known for his active involvement in various organizations and self-development projects. He led the Islamic Art Collaboration Student Activity Unit (UKM JQH) from 2019 to 2021, served as Vice President of the Informatics Student Association (2021–2022), and was Head of the IT Division at Permikomnas DIY (2020–2021). Academically, he worked as a teaching assistant for Basic Web Programming and Advanced Web Programming under the supervision of Informatics lecturer Syauqie Muhammad Marier.

After graduation, Fajeri joined the UNU Jogja Rectorate staff from August to December 2023 and continued as a teaching assistant until February 2024. Currently, he works as an Information Systems Center staff member at a private university in Yogyakarta while developing technology projects supporting information systems for several Islamic boarding schools. He also serves as a member of the IT Division at the Regional Board of Jam’iyyatul Qurra wal Huffazh (PWJQH) NU DIY for the 2023–2027 period.

Fajeri credits UNU Jogja for playing a major role in his success. “The support I received went beyond academic learning—it shaped my character and network. My lecturers, mentors, and peers have been essential parts of my journey. UNU Jogja is truly a home and a place where I’ve grown,” he said.

Yana Hedriana, Head of the Informatics Study Program, expressed appreciation for Fajeri’s achievement. “This accomplishment is clear evidence that UNU Jogja’s Informatics graduates are capable of competing on a global stage, bringing pride to their alma mater, and inspiring the younger generation,” she remarked.
